People who work in the financial sectors
Bankers, accountants, actuaries, economists, statisticians, insurance and mortgage brokers, auctioneers, pawnbrokers, building society staff, venture capital providers, valuers, bill discounters, cashiers, stockbrokers, dealers in futures, exchanges’ staff, credit and finance providers, financial speculators, debt counsellors, business transfer agents, debt collectors and credit reference agents.
Loving God you do not condemn money, only those who have made it an idol and allowed its pursuit to become an end in itself. We give you thanks for those whose endeavours make possible the mortgages, pensions, savings accounts, credit cards and myriad of financial transactions on which our lives rely. We pray for those who make financial decisions, help them to act wisely and justly, and as others place faith and trust in their decision-making, may it inspire their own faith and trust in You.”
AMEN
Regular prayer for the world of work can be a significant feature in Sunday services. ICF
seeks to provide a variety of resources to help those who prepare these. Prayer of this nature
is important because:
Each week, we highhlight different groups of workers and encourage our members and followers to particularly
pray for people who work in that sector. We also encourage local churches to include regular prayers for the world of work
As you pray, Consider what might be said in the context of thanksgiving, confession and
intercession, both for the workers concerned and for those present.
