Take Your Minister to Work Day
Take Your minister to work day is a joint initiative between ICF, Churches Together in Cheshire and North Western Baptist Association.
Each year we mark the traditional Christian festival of Rogationtide by encouraging church leaders and clergy to visit at least one workplace
of a member of their congregation. Alternatively, a visit might be arranged to a company in the vicinity of the church premises.
Rogationtide was once the occasion when the newly sown crops would be blessed in the fields; in some rural parishes this
tradition continues to be observed. Take Your Minister to work day is a 21st century expression of this commitment to the well-being of
the working community
The purpose of TYMTW is to encourage a deeper understanding between faith communities and the world of work - and while there is no fixed agenda, a number of useful initiatives have grown out of workplace visits arranged through this scheme.
